About Helen

With over 40 years experience in real estate sales, Helen gets wonderful results for home sellers and buyers.  Her marketing savvy and negotiating expertise have helped many who now contribute to her strong referral business.  A native of Washington, DC, she is licensed in the District of Columbia and the state of Maryland and knows the many city and suburban neighborhoods area residents love to call home.  From starter homes in moderately price neighborhoods, to million-dollar-plus homes in upscale neighborhoods throughout the city and Maryland suburbs, Helen is active in serving clients in many different communities.

For twelve years Helen served on the DC Real Estate Commission. Through her work and training in selling homes in upper brackets of the DC area market, she has earned the designation of Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist (CLHMS). She has served on several committees of the Washington DC Association of Realtors and the Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors.  Educational offerings she completed through the National Association of Realtors have earned her the professional designations of Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Graduate of the Realtor Institute (GRI) and Seniors Residential Specialist (SRES).  During the 1990s, Helen was co-owner and associate broker of Dodson Realty Inc., working in sales, training and recruiting to help lead and grow the brokerage into a successful Century 21 franchised office. Subsequently, for ten years she successfully served many residential real estate sellers and buyers through Long and Foster Real Estate, Inc.

In 2011 Helen joined the Bethesda/Chevy Chase Market Center of Keller Williams Capital Properties, where she sold DC and Maryland real estate and learned new methods of marketing and selling homes.  Excited to have returned to Long & Foster in January of 2017, she continues to use her expertise along with state of the art technology to help people sell and buy homes. 

Helen’s formal education includes a master’s degree in public relations from American University and a bachelor’s degree from Tufts University.
