About David

Before embarking upon his successful Real Estate career, Dave attended Queensboro Nursing School, whose mission in helping others, inspired his decision to enter the New York Police Department Academy in 1985. While working as a Police Officer, Dave obtained his real estate license in 1995 and assisted his wife and full time Realtor® Nancy.

After a successful career as one of New York’s Finest, he retired as a Sergeant in 2002 after responding to the 9/11 World Trade Center tragedy and losing his partner.

In 2007 the Keller Williams® Realty franchise selected Dave as an investor to assist in the opening of the first New York City Keller Williams® Realty franchise which is located in Bayside, NY. Dave continues to invest in several Keller Williams® Market Centers.

Apart from having a leadership role and assisting over 500 agents in the Keller Williams Realty Landmark franchises, Dave is also the model and guide for his personal Real Estate team. The Legaz Team consists of 5 agents and an executive assistant. The Legaz Team sells a home every 5 days!

Dave has been a National Association of Realtors® Director since 2011 & a NY State Association of Realtors® Director since 2010 and chairs and serves on many National, State and local committees. Dave will be serving as the Long Island Board of Realtors®, a 25,000 trade association, as the 2017 President.

Dave’s desire for continuous knowledge has led him to acquire several designations such as: ABR (Accredited Buyer’s Representative), CIPS (Certified International Property Specialist, CRS (Certified Residential Specialist), e-Pro, GRI (Graduate, REALTOR® Institute), RSPS (Resort and Second Home Property Specialist) & SRES (Senior Real Estate Specialist).

Dave, a NYS Real Estate Instructor, also combines his years of law enforcement with rest estate as he teaches Realtor Safety classes within his Franchise & Realtor Association. He has a 3 hour CE Realtor Safety Class approved at NYS.
