My family and I were located in the State of Hawaii and looking to purchase a home in Texas. Being located in the middle of the ocean while searching for a home 4,000 miles away can be quite daunting. We had the pleasure of working with Rene to sell our home in Plano. Right from the start she impressed us! We have sold three homes in the last 9 years and Rene is the shining example of a star realtor! We were excited to learn that Rene is very familiar with Plano, and west Plano in particular, which was important to us as we wanted someone who could accurately price our home given its location and nearby amenities. Rene also resides in the area so her ability to convey information about the neighborhood and west Plano during open houses was fantastic! Communication and availability As any seller quickly realizes, selling a home is quite stressful as you stage the home, make it available to show, and then anxiously await feedback. Rene minimized all of that stress! I realized during this process that part of being a great realtor is being a “psychologist”. Rene was always available to discuss any questions or concerns and she kept abreast of new homes coming on the market in my neighborhood. She could easily calm my nerves if I felt a competitive home was placed on the market or if I was nervous about the volume of showings. I appreciate how responsive Rene was throughout the process including sending me live updates during open houses (wow!). I never felt rushed when I was on the phone with her and she was always quick to respond to text messages no matter the time of the day. Strategy Selling a home is so much more than a sign and flashy marketing materials – it requires strategic thinking and Rene brought that to the table from day one. She brought in a stager to give us suggestions on how to arrange our home with our existing furnishings. This helped our home shine during the photo shoot and during open houses. We had great traffic during open houses and feedback was positive on the home, but given the timing of when we need to sell our house we needed to take a price reduction. Rene patiently talked with me for more than an hour as I debated various pricing scenarios with her and came up with “what-ifs”. We landed on a price that within 1 week saw us entertaining 3 simultaneous offers – all from an open house! Open House As we placed our home on the market, I was hesitant to do open houses based on previous selling experiences outside of Texas. With 2 children under the age of 5, the task seemed daunting, but I was surprised by how well open houses performed for us. Rene’s bubbly and friendly demeanor is perfect for open houses. She makes you feel welcomed and gives you the right amount of information to view the home in the right perspective while also letting you feel free to view the home at your pace. Given the amount of traffic from our first open house, I quickly grew to love the open houses. This worked well for our family because it helped to reduce the amount of random appointment time requests during the weekend – they all condensed down to the open houses! Rene did an open house for us each weekend until the home sold, sometimes even on Saturday and Sunday of the same weekend. This is true dedication on the part of a realtor – it is time away from family and time away from showing homes on the weekend. The best part…all 4 of the offers we received on the home came from open houses! Rene is a superstar! Follow through As a corporate relocation, our sale came with a few nuances, lots of paperwork, and quite a lot of coordination with our relocation company. Rene seamlessly navigated the process, keeping in touch with our relocation company throughout and keeping us informed along the way. She was just as communicative and responsive all way through the end, even checking in with us during the move out process to see if she could be helpful in anyway. Closing thoughts If you are looking to sell your home with someone who cares about your home as if it were their own, your mental sanity as if you were a family member, and wants to get you the most money for your home, Rene is the realtor to hire. Throughout this process we built a friendship and if I have the opportunity to move back to Plano, I will certainly look to buy a home through Rene.
