The process was made more difficult by the fact that we used to live in Rochester, NY and could only make limited trips to Florida. We knew we wanted to be somewhere along the Gulf Coast but that was about all we knew. Like most other buyers we saved a lot of legwork by working hours on the web. In fact, that’s where we stumbled upon you. Now, using the word stumbled may seem less than flattering, but when you think about it, that’s exactly what happened. During our first actual house hunt, you picked us up at our hotel totally prepared to accommodate our aggressive time lines and support us in what we were looking for. All properties, and there were many that first visit, were aligned in your GPS and we covered the gamut. That first trip, we didn’t select anything so back we went back to New York. We each had our homework. Many communications were made during these few weeks; you were never too busy to answer questions or concerns. Happily you had a good understanding of the area and the market which coupled with the understanding you developed of our sometimes-conflicting wants, helped to minimize the consequences of our remote location in NY. Several lengthy e-mails helped us narrow our options. It of course required several trips to complete the process and several offers that went nowhere due to the rapidly changing market. Even after we had an offer that was accepted you were helpful during the process of clearing contingencies and didn’t back away from any issue that arose. The purchase was completed and we left our home in New York, drove to Florida, and you all but opened the door to our new home for us. Thanks again for all your help!

I am a Realtor with Fine Properties in Sarasota specializing in residential real estate. I help buyers and sellers in Sarasota and Manatee Counties. I’m originally from Ohio and moved here in 2005 with my husband. We figured why wait until retirement to enjoy the wonderful weather. Prior to getting into real estate, I worked in the banking industry through college and for over 10 years after graduating. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Ashland University in Ohio with a double major in Management and Finance. I entered the Real Estate Arena in 2008. Most thought it was a crazy time to get a real estate license because of the housing market collapse, but I felt it was an exciting new challenge. I needed a change and with the encouragement of my husband I decided to go for it. His exact words were, “We love it here, we’ve bought a home here and we don’t want to go anywhere else, so go ahead and build your business”. It’s taken a lot of hard work but my business is growing. My financial background provided a great foundation to transition into real estate. I am able to understand the various financing options for my buyers, which helps me to better serve my clients by bringing the best of both worlds. Everything I do, I do for my clients. Continuing education is very important! Every two years each Realtor is required to complete continuing education to renew their license. Great Realtors go above and beyond by getting new designations, going to seminars and in house training courses. Also attending classes held by local real estate attorneys about the new laws and changes to our contracts. Real Estate changes daily and you need to make sure your Realtor is keeping up with these changes (I am). Since 2008, I have completed a few designations and am working on a few more. I am currently a Member of The Institute for Luxury Home Marketing; a Certified Distressed Property Expert and a Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource. All the courses I take are to further my knowledge to help my clients. Real estate is a business that never rests. Along with daily interactions I have with my sellers, buyers and prospective clients, I also take the time to preview properties so I stay familiar with the different neighborhoods throughout Sarasota and Manatee Counties. It also helps me stay informed of the inventory of homes out there for my buyers and the competition for my sellers. I preview homes on Siesta Key, Casey Key and other areas. I also frequently visit the builders in the area and know what they have to offer my clients if they want a NEW Home.
