What do Clients Say?

“We have purchased 8 homes in 4 states over the past 13 years and this was by far the best experience. Ironically it was also the least expensive home since it was a weekend getaway. Darlene did all the leg work one would expect from a real estate agent and also went well beyond to inspect each house before our arrival. We have 3 young children who attended this process so you can imagine her patience level in a car for 2 days without even blinking. She found the exact place in the perfect location for our family. Even after several months of ownership she continues to help with contractors gaining entry to our place for upgrades. If you are looking for agent your can trust, one that cares, and follows through with your best interest STOP as you have found her.”

“I have been a real estate broker for over 30 years and was, obviously, very particular about choosing the right agent to find my vacation home in Highlands. Darlene met and exceeded all my expectations. She was knowledgeable, organized and always prompt. Her upbeat, positive attitude made my search extremely enjoyable as well. ”

About Linda Darlene

That is not just a branding slogan for me.  I spent every summer of my childhood at our family farm in Ashville. There is something unique about the way the earth smells here in Western North Carolina.  Since my father was in the Navy, summer's in Ashville were often the only family vacation we took. As we traveled back, I could not wait to catch that first breath of air that smelled like summer in the mountains. With one breath, all the memories from past Summers came rushing back. I have felt that there is more than just that smell of the earth which draws me back. My families' roots are embedded in the Mountains of Western North Carolina. My mother was born and raised in Asheville where her family names of the Morgan and Smathers are part of the history which helped settle Buncombe County.

Even with all the places I lived while growing up I chose to return to North Carolina to attend college.  I am a second generation graduate of Western Carolina University.  While earning a degree in Finance/Economics, I met my husband Paul.  Our love of the Mountains brought us back here years ago, where we built our retirement home. We still have a very active business in Atlanta. I feel that my greatest strength that I understand what it is like to live and work in two different places. This understanding allows me to share my love and knowledge of the area for those who wish to live here full time, seasonally, or just for a long weekend.
