He graduated top of his class in Marketing Management and small business development at BCIT where he won the "President's Award" for the Best Marketing Project of the year for the Vancouver Canucks NHL franchise and was hired by the Canucks Marketing Department right out of College. He also studied sciences at Simon Fraser University and Business at University of Britich Columbia. Michael's financial industry background had him founding a dot.com innovative health company going public on NASDAQ in 2000 during the Internet bubble, and yet was successful in the venture capital industry from 1996 onward and is still an active investor in new energy and renewable sustainable ventures and resource exploration ventures.
