I have never written a review for any person, place, or thing online, but I felt compelled to write one for Geoffrey Cook who helped me close on my first vacation rental investment property in Maui. As much as I wanted to purchase property in Maui, I was very nervous about the logistics of the whole process considering I was not on the island (I live in California). When you’re not able to be there in person to tour the place and do a thorough inspection, the realtor then becomes your eyes and ears, and their judgment means everything! You want an agent who isn’t looking to rush you to buy just any place but who is looking out for your best interest, even when the lender is making the process long and difficult. Honestly, it was scary putting all my trust in one person and relying on their trustworthiness to report back to me honestly, but Geoffrey was able to put every one of my fears to rest. During the property hunting process, he took very thorough video documentation of the unit, pointing out particular areas of concern. He did the same thing again when the inspector came, and then again for the final walk-through. During escrow, I had a bunch of questions about the property that would pop into my head at strange hours of the day, and sure enough, Geoffrey answered them all within the same day and most times within a few hours--responsiveness is an understatement! As humble and patient as he is with dealing with his clients, Geoffrey is a strategic and tactful negotiator and a fierce advocate for his clients. Geoffrey was able to negotiate down the asking price -- knowing when to push and when to play the waiting game. Then later on, when the seller tried to pass off the assessment fees onto me without my knowing, Geoffrey advocated for my dues under the terms of our contract. Again, Geoffrey goes above and beyond. Geoffrey is that rare mix of competence and warmth. Escrow is a long and drawn out process with many potential obstacles along the way. You need someone who is approachable, pleasant to interact with on a day to day basis, and keeps a positive and upbeat spirit when times get tough. So if you’re looking for all these qualities in an agent, without hesitation, I would wholeheartedly recommend Geoffrey Cook!

From the very first meeting with Geoff we knew he was the realtor for us. Geoff is very humble and listens to everything you are looking for in a home. He understood right from the start what we were looking for and he knows the housing market well. He showed us alot of really nice homes, but we held out for the perfect one. When that perfect piece came along we jumped on it quickly. Geoff was there every step of the way. He got us an amazing deal on a house under asking price. If you ask him for something he will get it done instantly. We had a couple of major hang ups with the financing of the loan, and Geoff was there to talk to the selling agent and keep the contract alive. In the end we ended up in a dream home.
