I write to highly recommend Lisa Karam for her significant capabilities in the sale of high-end mountain real estate. Lisa was able to sell our home on Powder Mountain at very close to the listing price despite the fact that that price was almost double any previous comps.  She did this despite the significant challenges in the minds of many buyers. Specifically, she was able to frankly discuss the lack of year round plowed access to the property in ways that overcame potential buyers concerns. We chose Lisa originally because she is associated with a nationwide luxury real estate brand. We thought that, with that network, she would be able to bring buyers to the home that might not otherwise consider Powder Mountain. Additionally, we thought that she would be able to bring to bear marketing resources and tools that a smaller firm might not have access to. We were not disappointed. In addition to stunning photography, widespread advertising and a significant web presence, the home was also prominently featured in the editorial of the firm's annual home book and video in addition to the home's standard listing. All of this is thanks to Lisa's contacts, connections and diligence. Another thing that swayed us was Lisa's professionalism. Our thought was that we needed someone who conveyed a level of polish, skill, and taste commensurate with the price point of the home and that could relate to buyers at their own level. Her location at the foot of the mountain was key as well. Many times she was able to show a property at the last minute, or accommodate a buyer that wanted a second look. Finally, we would not have sold this house without Lisa's hand-on approach to getting an appropriate appraisal for the buyer's financing needs. This property was under contract at almost twice the previous comp. Lisa was creative and forceful with both the mortgage lender and the appraiser to ensure that all relevant data was taken into account and the appraiser could make the valuation work. This was no small task. She succeeded because of her seemingly unending network of contacts throughout the real estate and lending community.

About Lisa

Lisa grew up inside D.C.'s beltway in Silver Spring, Maryland, less than a thirty-minute drive from the White House. She has degrees in marketing and organizational management from Palm Beach Atlantic University. After a 14 year stint as an executive in the retail industry, she arrived in Utah in 1996 to do land development in the Ogden Valley.

 

Lisa has extensive experience in all aspects of real estate development, sales and marketing, and has been a licensed agent for the last 14 years. Outside of her professional life, she has been extremely active in community affairs. She is a past chair of the board of the Ogden-Weber Chamber of Commerce, the Ogden-Weber Convention and Visitor's Bureau, and the Family Support Center. She was a co-founder of the Ogden Valley Business Association, and is currently on the board of the Ogden Valley Adaptive Sports Foundation, and the Weber Tourism Tax Advisory Board. She was a founding member of the Greater Ogden Athletic Legacy Foundation (GOAL).
