Tiffiney is wonderful and you won’t find anyone better. She helped us find our first dream home and we didn’t make it easy. We had a lot of criteria that had to be met within our price range and with how competitive the market is in San Diego, Tiffiney made it happen. I’m a very thorough person and like to understand everything that is happening and Tiffiney was always available to answer any questions and if she didn’t know something (which is rare) she would make sure to find out and get back to me promptly. We were set on a particular area and Tiffany really opened up our eyes to other areas of town and ultimately found our dream home in an area that we weren’t even contemplating and couldn’t be happier. It’s in her blood. She’s the granddaughter of a self-enlisted WWII private who worked his way to an officer then used his benefits to buy and sell properties, retiring comfortably at age forty. Most fascinating, she’s also the great-granddaughter of one of the first women to engage in buying and renovating properties for resale and profit in the early 20th century. True to her legacy, she’s an investor herself, having acquired, renovated, rented, and transferred multiple properties and currently continues to manage a fleet of personal real-estate assets.

Tiffiney founded Tenax Real Estate & Investment Properties, a boutique brokerage and investment firm offering white glove services to buyers and sellers since 2007. She aligned with Coldwell Banker in 2021, elevating Tenax’s couture-style services into the global market, and positioning herself among an elite list of Certified Global Luxury Property Specialist.

Tenax is the Welles family crest. It means tenacity in Latin, and Tiffiney proudly owns it. She brings a fresh energy and fearlessness to the table. She’s an insightful negotiator, remarkably in tune with buyers and sellers, their passions and fears. Her extensive background in law and real-estate governance, together with her sense of personal responsibility make her invaluable in spotting nuance, navigating complexities, and helping her clients make confident, informed choices.

She’s been an over-achiever all her life, shattering ceilings, improving processes, and elevating standards. She combined legal studies with a Bachelor of Arts from San Diego State University, then excelled as VP of Legal Affairs with the San Diego Association of Realtors, where she transformed the legal department from a dysfunctional fiscal liability into a thriving and profitable business. She led sweeping changes, conceiving and executing numerous certification programs related to contract negotiations, risk management, and ethics. She established a mediation center and authored its mandate and implemented the certification program for the very role she held; initiatives now recognized state-wide and copied by various associations.

During her time serving on the board of Rebuilding Together, she launched the initiative to end a decades-long leasing cycle and purchase their current headquarter facility. She’s been a board member with Mission Hills Town Council, a member of Junior League and Toastmasters, an annual exhibitor at the San Diego Museum of Arts annual Art alive benefit for over a decade, and she’s frequently spotted at Father Joe’s serving up breakfast to the 6am crowd, or helping out with the Special Olympics.

While she thrives on being busy and performing at her best, Tiffiney always makes time for long morning walks, quiet evenings with her husband Steve, and a variety of fun activities with her super-cute French Bulldog, Knick-knack.
