We are out of state, so we were entirely dependent on our real estate agent. We had started working with a few in Houston, who turned out to be unprofessional and unreliable. I had begun to lament that either the new generation of realtors was too money-hungry or green, or perhaps it was a regional culture of realtors. I could not be more happy that we found Herma, who completely proved me wrong. Herma was professional, careful, and thoughtful. She considered our interests at every point - from the way she video-recorded the homes to how she dealt with the sellers and even the title company. When everyone around seemed equally incompetent (seller's agent, title company, etc) (making mistakes again and again), Herma's competence shone through, putting them to shame. When I mentioned that we had our heart set on one of the homes we had looked at that seemed like too much of a long shot- she made it happen. I am relieved and honored to have found Herma. She is a stellar agent, one that fits within an older cadre of professionalism, rather than social media get-rich-quick scheme enthusiasts. The other agents we worked with had subtly pushed us in ways that ran counter to our interests, which might not have been evident to most first time buyers.
