My wife and I had a dream to purchase a cottage in the beautiful Haliburton Highlands, so we began our search in 2017 as a young professional couple with the thought of kids on the horizon where we could create lasting memories for our family. Our first step was to find a trustworthy realtor, who truly understood what we were looking for and of course was within our budget. Karen Nimigon was recommended to us by a life long friend who had used Karen previously with their cottage purchase and provided us with raving reviews on their experience working with Karen and team. So the decision was easy, we chose to work with Karen and never looked back which is a decision we are grateful we made! Upon our first viewing Karen took the time to get to know us, what's important, did we plan on using the cottage year round, budget, etc. Karen then patiently took the time to start showing us properties so that we could get a feel for the market which really proved she had our best interest in mind. Fast forward a year or maybe two later in a very competitive market and we finally had an accepted offer, however we chose to walk away after home inspection due to major structural issues. Karen was patient and professional and supported us in this decision, with encouragement that the right place would come up. Frustrated from our lengthy search we started to "grasp" and at times wanted to offer on properties where Karen would remind us of our priorities in circumstances where the cottage did not align or fit with what we had laid out as important to us. This not only strengthened our trust in Karen but showed how genuine Karen is to ensure she does her best to meet the needs of her clients. Finally at the peak of COVID a gem came up and we made our offer, the offer was accepted and we've never looked back! Karen was extremely efficient and flawless to deal with through the closing. Since closing our cottage I'ev also used Karen in a business transition for a prime retail space which again happened seamlessly where there was more involved than normal since dealing with a large corporation lease agreement. To this day, we remain in contact with Karen not only as a realtor but as a friend where she continues to support us anytime we are stuck searching for the right local contractor or contact to do the job by providing her professional recommendations from her many years of experience! Karen is a dedicated, honest and extremely knowledgeable realtor with a keen eye to details who always puts her clients needs first!
