About Joshua

With 28 years of real estate experience and more than three decades of expertise in lending, finance, development, and investment, Joshua Mothner is a trusted Florida Keys real estate professional specializing in luxury waterfront homes, commercial real estate, investment properties, development opportunities, and property rights transactions. Since becoming a Realtor in 1998, Joshua has successfully listed and sold more than $250 million in residential and commercial real estate, while also participating in an additional $100 million in lending and development transactions, representing over $350 million in total real estate and financial transaction volume throughout his career.

Raised on Shelter Island, New York, Joshua developed a lifelong appreciation for coastal living and waterfront properties before making Marathon, Florida his home nearly three decades ago. Today, he is recognized as a local market expert serving buyers, sellers, investors, and business owners throughout Marathon, Key Colony Beach, Islamorada, Duck Key, Big Pine Key, and the surrounding Florida Keys.

Joshua's background extends far beyond traditional real estate sales. Beginning his career as a lender in 1989, he later owned and operated his own mortgage brokerage business and graduated from the prestigious Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. His unique combination of real estate, lending, banking, and development experience allows him to provide clients with a deeper understanding of property values, financing strategies, investment opportunities, and market conditions than most agents can offer.

A proud United States Army veteran, Joshua served honorably and attained the rank of E-5 Sergeant, carrying the values of integrity, discipline, and service into every client relationship. He is also deeply committed to his community and served as President of the Middle Keys Community Land Trust, and he continues to advocate for affordable housing initiatives and expanded homeownership opportunities throughout the Florida Keys.
